Executive Summary
Dr. François Tranquart is a physician-scientist with more than 40 years of experience in imaging, combining two decades of clinical practice and research at Tours University Hospital with over 15 years of industry leadership. His work in R&D, clinical development, and regulatory strategy has been central to the successful approval of two imaging compounds. His academic career spans oncology and cardiovascular disease, encompassing the diagnostic use of contrast media and radionuclides alongside therapy with MR-guided focused ultrasound, radionuclides, and microbubble drug delivery — work that has included 20+ Phase 2–4 clinical studies and more than 170 peer-reviewed papers.
As a Senior Partner at The Bracken Group, François advises imaging, radiopharmaceutical, and device clients on clinical development strategy, molecular imaging programs, and regulatory pathways. In industry he has led R&D and clinical development for molecular imaging and therapy using microbubbles, radiopharmaceuticals, delivery devices, software development, and contrast media manufacturing — as Global Head of Clinical Development at General Electric Healthcare Imaging, as General Manager at Bracco Suisse SA, and as Senior Consultant at Advice-US. That work has built deep experience with regulatory agencies worldwide across site inspections, clinical development pathways, studies in every phase, and NDA submissions.
Before moving into industry, François held a University Professor and Hospital Practitioner appointment in Biophysics and Nuclear Imaging at CHRU Tours and managed an INSERM team focused on ultrasound technology and its clinical applications. Clients engage François when a program needs someone who can assess genuine medical need, identify problems early, and challenge assumptions — offering contingencies and innovative strategies that turn scientific depth into a credible commercial path in molecular imaging and radioligand therapy.
